How to measure your dog's paw
Place your dog's paw flat on the floor, spread the toes naturally, and measure across the widest point of the pad — usually the front of the paw. Don't measure with the paw lifted; the toes spread differently when weight is on them. If the measurement falls on a border (e.g. exactly 3.5"), go up a size — a loose fit cleans; a tight fit doesn't.

Common buyer questions
What if my dog is between two sizes?
Go up. A too-tight cup can't twist around the paw — the bristles miss the sides and only touch the bottom. A loose fit is annoying but it still cleans. The exception is XSmall: if your dog is borderline Small, the XSmall is usually fine because tiny paws move freely even in a marginally-loose cup.
Is there a refund or replacement policy?
Amazon offers 30-day returns on the MudBuster, no questions. Dexas direct has a similar return window. Save the original packaging if you think the size might be wrong.
Are the cheaper Amazon clones worth trying?
