Accessibility Statement
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate disclosure
We want everyone to be able to read and use DogPawCare.com, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, screen magnification or other assistive technology.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is our own assessment: the site has not been audited by an outside accessibility specialist.
What we do
- Structure: each page has one main heading, headings in order, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer, and a breadcrumb trail.
- Keyboard: every link, button, menu and tool can be used with the keyboard, with a visible focus outline. Wide tables can be scrolled with the keyboard.
- Screen readers: data tables have column and row headers. Decorative icons and illustrations are hidden from screen readers; a dash meaning "not stated by the maker" is read out in words.
- Text and color: body text and links are designed for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1. Color is never the only way we show meaning: yes/no values and warnings also use words.
- Zoom and small screens: pages reflow on phones and at high zoom without sideways scrolling of the page; wide tables scroll inside their own box.
- Motion: there are no autoplaying videos or carousels, and animations are reduced if your system asks for reduced motion.
- Tools: the size finders work with a keyboard, announce results to screen readers, and show the full size table when JavaScript is turned off.
Known limitations
- Some comparison tables have many columns. On small screens you need to scroll inside the table to see all of them.
- Pages we link to, such as Amazon product pages and veterinary sources, are not under our control and may have their own accessibility issues.
